A Gastronomic Experience with
Chef Alberto Leandri
We are proud to introduce the Il Venetian Signature Dinner Series – A Gastronomic Experience Through the Regions of Italy with Chef Alberto Leandri.
Born in Venice, Chef Leandri trained in Italy before cooking his way across Europe and the United States, where he became the Executive Chef of Il Venetian, a fine dining restaurant in Cleveland that carries the name of his home city. Under his leadership, Il Venetian has been recognized among the Top 100 Hotel Restaurants in America, the Best Hotel Restaurant in Ohio, and voted Cleveland’s #1 Italian Restaurant 2026.
His cooking is shaped by authentic flavors, local markets, traditional recipes, and techniques passed down through generations. With each dinner, Chef Leandri will take guests on a journey to a selected region of Italy through a curated menu that is not simply “inspired” by these places but rooted in them, offering a truly unique gastronomic experience.

Gastronomy Dinner: Sicilia e Sardegna

On September 3, our Gastronomic Dinner Series continues with Sicilia e Sardegna, an exploration of two of Italy’s great Mediterranean islands and two distinct culinary identities. Throughout the evening, Chef Alberto moves between Sicily and Sardinia, allowing each island to tell its own story:
Sicily appears in the crisp panelle and caponata of its street-food tradition; red shrimp from Mazara del Vallo; the citrus, sea urchin and volcanic wines of Etna; and the sweet-and-savory character of beccafico.
Sardinia tells a different story through pane carasau, pecorino, culurgiones filled with potato and mint, bottarga, mirto, Cannonau and the island’s distinctive pastoral traditions.
At times, the 6-courses menu follows the sea. At others, it moves inland. The wines follow the same path, moving between Sicily and Sardinia alongside the food. Familiar regional dishes are preserved, reinterpreted, and paired with ingredients and techniques that reveal Chef Alberto’s own culinary point of view.
